steve, I can spot homosexual music a mile away, and this song isn't it. It's weird and eccentric, but not gay. Most of Wall of Voodoo's songs do suck, but this was their one gem of the bunch, which is why it's so popular. Whether it was luck or brilliance, the song and video totally have a Mexican/Tijuana feel to them. They simply hit the nail on the head with this one.

Well I think this cover is great, and I'm a dedicated fan of Stan Ridgway. I think some of the people who were commenting earlier and running down this video by Kinky (while praising WOV's original) have lost sight of the fact that while this tune is indeed great, it's also 25-odd years old - so lighten up people, and just take it where you can get it.
