john mayer writes his own lyrics, he would never give up his integrity as an artist and have someone else write for him. jack and john are both great, why are we comparing? jack is acoustic soft rock while john is more of bluesy pop. as far as writing i think that jack is more matured and better at portraying his feelings through music. and of course mayer is a more accomplished guitar player, who didnt know that?

John Mayer's guitar music is much more difficult. And the writing, that HE DOES DO himself is much more musically complicated. He uses complex jazz chords and ideas. If you can play his stuff with your eyes closed then you can play Jack Johnson on your head. Jack Johnson uses chords. How often does he go and do a solo. Also, John Mayer plays blues songs that are more complex than most modern artists.

He does a lot more with his guitar, like his percussive playing and the way he adds hammer-ons and pulloffs between each chord, it's different and it's great, and that's why he's the One and Only Jack Johnson that he is

I agree. The 80s was the greatest decade in NBA history. You had the flair, fundlementals and powerhouse teams all rolled into one. There was teams that were loaded with talent. Centers like Moses, Kareem, Lanier, Olajawon, Ewing, Parish. Great players at every position. Expansion has hurt the talent pool some. There are guys playing today that couldnt make it in the league back then.

For a player to go coast to coast first of all he has to be able to rebound. Magic was able to get 8-9-10 boards in a game and that started the transition. When he got the rebound it was deadly because there was no outlet needed. He was gone up the court, pushing the ball at an incredible pace for a man 6-9. His size also allowed him to survive on inside drives to the basket absorbing the contact and still making the shot. If you stopped him he dished to Worthy or Wilkes for an easy layup.

When I said Coast to Cost I mean getting the rebound and taking the ball the length of the court and scoring. I havnt seen anyone do it like Magic did. I saw both of their careers from beginning to end. Im not saying Magic was better than Jordan but in that area he was. jordan was able to do that consistently night in and night out as well, maybe you haven't seen enough of jordan? i will definitely give you full court TRANSITION for magic, because of his passing abilities and running the flow of the game, he is better. I also agree on the analysis of magic's size. Magic`s career had 2 parts. Early he the engineer of the fastbreak and deferred to Kareem in clutch situations. By `87 Kareem was 40 and Magic took the scoring load. Thats when he was at his absolute peak. The best player in the world. He would go down low and post up, hitting that hook shot and spinning to the basket with either hand. He was awesome. If you double teamed him it was suicide. He almost never missed an open man. Through traffic and 3-5 players he would make a bullet pass.
