Rem, .338 is still a threat to soft targets past 1,200yds, it was designed to punch through Kevlar (at those ranges). Alot of SQDMs drop soft targets with .308 anywhere from 800-1000yds, not an everday occurance, but notable none the less. I'm no hunter, so I'll let it be known I have not the slightest clue how antelope compare to humans.

Both methods of hunting are honorable; as long as you take an animal with respect and a lack of cruelty. Whether you shoot it from far away or from close up, if you're doing it right the animal is calm and at peace, and isn't aware of your presence. I don't see that "giving the animal a chance" is any more of a factor in short-range hunting than long-range. Unless the hunter actually engages in unarmed hand-to-hand combat with it. Is that what you're advocating?

I can see the point's raised regarding ethics and hunting skill. Why waste such skill and discipline on elk when there are so many drug dealers and crooks on the city steets that need to be eliminated. On a serious note, my buddy and I hunt groundhogs on local farms. As the years pass, our equipment gets better, our skills improve and the distance in which we effectively take game stretches out. Now if we spot a hog at 100yds. We walk 250 the other way to take our shot.

Yeah, Danny is really up there. He's extremely creative, and very skilled. I can only hope to play that way one day. Bert and John arranged a lot of the music, but left many open parts for Danny to improv through. If you listen and watch closely, you can really dissect it. It's very interesting.

Saw them live many times and he did a singing piece called "The Loneliest Monk" about a monk who could not sing--he said to the critics not to write about his inability to sing; that was the point of the song and the very demonstration. He more than made up for not singing. Terry Cox was the second most arrogant drummer in the world...he could never remember the first. They can each and all be arrogant as they wanna be!
