a Weatherby .30-378 huh... What is your ammo recipe?...I have finally worked up a load for a 300 RUM, but damn it sure takes a lot of powder to get that 3250 fps it claims. In a factory SS Sendero (26"), I had to use 97 gr. of H1000 for a 180 gr. I hate to go any more, but I really don't have any over pressure signs yet, but according to the Nosler book, it should be way too hot?

Rem, .338 is still a threat to soft targets past 1,200yds, it was designed to punch through Kevlar (at those ranges). Alot of SQDMs drop soft targets with .308 anywhere from 800-1000yds, not an everday occurance, but notable none the less. I'm no hunter, so I'll let it be known I have not the slightest clue how antelope compare to humans.

He's shooting a Weatherby .30-378 the .308 couldn't make it and i doubt the .338 would have much knock down power at that range on big game.

Your the one who needs to look it up. Carlos used a 50 BMG with a scope on it to make his 2500 yard shot. His interview his on this site, just type in his name and he talks about the day he made that shot. And he does NOT have the most recorded kills. He has 93 confirmed and THEY think as many as 300 to 400 possibles that could not be confirmed. Damn read his biography.And his name is Hathcock, not hatcock.
