Don't you imagine Vince and Pam's comments about Tammy as "The First Lady of country music" mainly refers to her just as we have the president's wife as "The First Lady"? Not that she was the first lady ever of country music. That's the way I interpret it. I am so happy Tammy was inducted, though posthumously, in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Richey did not marry Tammy for money, nor did Tammy marry him for money. BOTH of them were successful in their own right well before they were ever married, Richey as a producer-songwriter, and Tammy of course as a singer-songwriter. Jackie's book was for the most part a 2000-Tammy Wynette version of "Mommie Dearest"

That clip was from the 1968 CMA Awards telecast. It was the first of three consecutive years Tammy would win Female Vocalist of the Year, and the fist time the CMA Awards were telecast. I have it on a VHS tape: The D-i-v-o-r-c-e performance, as well as Tammy presenting Glen Campbell with Male Vocalist of the Year, and Glen presenting Tammy with her award :) hopefully sometime this coming year I will have a way to post them here.

i never disputed that humans did these horrific things to animals, nor did i say humans suffered at the hands of animals. You have no idea who i am, nor what my ethics are. actively promote animal rights, am vegetarian and am fully aware of the atrocities that occur in the places shown in this video. I've been talking to folks and I hear it over and over, that they want country to sound the way it used to sound, like Patsy Cline's voice and the way Emmylou sings and George Jones and of course George Strait.
